December 23, 2019, Ottawa, ON -- CALA is pleased to announce it is extending its services to include assessment and accreditation of sampling to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
With the publication of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, the definition of a laboratory has expanded. Accreditation can be granted to testing laboratories and to organizations that perform sampling for subsequent testing. By definition, the standard recognizes sampling as a stand-alone process that falls under the requirements of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard. “Sampling techniques are extremely important to obtaining accurate and quality data. They can greatly influence the reliability of testing results. CALA has recognized a need in the market for the accreditation of sampling and is excited to offer ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation to organizations that perform sampling only, or to accredit testing laboratories that perform both sampling and testing.” says Andrew Adams, CALA’s President & CEO.
