In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, CALA has suspended all classroom training until the end of December. This doesn’t mean that there are no opportunities for laboratory management and staff to keep enhancing their skills. CALA continues to offer and increase the number of virtual courses.
Now is a great time to have your auditors get up to speed on auditing the new requirements in your management system, while also honing their auditing skills. The Auditing Against ISO/IEC 17025:2017 course is a highly interactive course that covers the changes to the standard, and how to assess them. The course provides the opportunity for your auditors to work with auditors from other laboratories while they discuss how to approach the audit, and work on case studies.
Virtual courses coming up this month and next:
- May 21: Risk-based Thinking in ISO/IEC 17025:2017
- May 26-27: Auditing against ISO/IEC 17025:2017
- June 2-3: Cause Analysis
- June 9-11: Understanding ISO/IEC 17025:2017
- June 17-19: Lead Auditor for ISO/IEC 17025
Virtual dedicated courses -- those specialized to your laboratory and your employees -- continue to be offered. Consider using the time that employees are working from home as an opportunity to train them as a team virtually on a subject area specific to your organization. Contact training@cala.ca for more information.
Additionally, CALA will be hosting a webinar on May 20th, Improvement under ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
